Privacy and Data

What this site does with your numbers and your browser, in plain terms and without a wall of legal wording.

Calculators run in your browser

Every calculator on this site runs inside your browser, and the numbers you type into it are never sent to a server. Position size, margin and pip value are worked out on your own device, so the figures you enter do not leave it.

That includes the margin example we reference for gold: at the applicable cap, a 0.10-lot position needs about $85.50 margin. If you change the inputs, the arithmetic happens locally, and nothing about your inputs is stored by us.

Third Parties Involved in Running This Site

Nakuru Spread uses a small number of third parties: a hosting provider that serves the pages, an analytics provider that counts visits if you consent, and FxPro when you follow a broker link. The hosting provider processes technical data such as your IP address to deliver the site, but does not receive your calculator inputs. The analytics provider receives page views and general location, not personal details.

FxPro becomes a third party only after you click a link to its site. From that point, FxPro’s privacy policy and cookie policy apply. Nakuru Spread does not control what FxPro collects, and FxPro may set cookies or request information as part of its account-opening process. You should read FxPro’s policy before opening an account. The regulator caveat for Kenya is that FxPro is licensed by the FCA (UK), CySEC and FSCA — not by the CMA of Kenya.

No other third parties receive data from Nakuru Spread. The site does not use advertising networks, social media pixels, or data brokers. It does not sell or rent any information to anyone. If this changes, the policy will be updated as described in the section on policy changes, and the list of third parties will be revised before any new party is used.

Traffic counts and local storage

We keep only aggregate traffic counts, which tell us how many visits a page received without identifying who visited. We do not build profiles of individual readers, and we do not sell data of any kind.

Local storage on your device holds your own preferences, such as a setting you chose on a calculator. That storage sits in your browser, is readable by you, and can be cleared by you at any time.

How Long Data Is Kept and What Deletes It

Nakuru Spread keeps calculator inputs only for the life of the browser tab; closing or refreshing the page deletes them. The cookie consent choice is kept in local storage until you clear it or change it, which may be months later. Analytics data, if you consent, is kept by the analytics provider for a period set by that provider, typically aggregated and without personal identifiers. No other data is retained.

Deleting the consent cookie is done by clearing site data in your browser or by using the cookie banner to change your choice. Clearing browser cookies and local storage removes everything Nakuru Spread has placed on your device. The site does not have a server-side copy of your consent choice, so once you clear it, the site cannot recover it; you will be asked again on your next visit.

Analytics data is deleted according to the analytics provider’s retention schedule, which Nakuru Spread does not control. Because the analytics data is aggregated and does not identify you, it cannot be tied back to you for deletion on request. If you refuse analytics cookies, no analytics data about you is collected at all. The site itself keeps no logs of individual visitors beyond what the hosting provider generates for security and performance.

Your Rights and How to Use Them

You have the right to ask what data Nakuru Spread holds about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to withdraw consent for analytics cookies at any time. Because the site stores almost nothing that identifies you, most requests will return no personal data. To exercise these rights, use the contact method published on the site’s contact page and state what you want. The site will respond within a reasonable period.

Withdrawing consent for analytics cookies is done through the cookie banner or your browser settings. If you clear the consent cookie, the banner will appear again and you can choose again. Deleting cookies in your browser removes both the consent cookie and any analytics cookies set by third parties. Nakuru Spread cannot delete cookies set by FxPro; you must do that through FxPro or your browser.

If you believe your data has been mishandled, you can complain to the site first using the contact method, and you may also have the right to complain to the relevant data protection authority. For Kenya, that is the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner. The site will cooperate with any lawful request. These rights apply to the limited data described in this policy, not to data held by brokers or other third parties.

Affiliate Tracking Stated Plainly

When you click a link to FxPro from Nakuru Spread, the link includes a code that tells FxPro the visit came from this site. If you later open an account and trade, FxPro may pay Nakuru Spread a commission. This does not change the price you pay or the spread you get; those are set by FxPro and depend on the account and instrument. The tracking code is the only thing added to the link.

The affiliate code does not identify you personally. It identifies Nakuru Spread as the referring site. FxPro may set its own cookie when you arrive, and that cookie is controlled by FxPro, not by this site. Nakuru Spread does not receive your name, account number, or trading results from FxPro. The site only learns that a click happened, not who clicked or what they did afterwards.

Affiliate tracking is disclosed here so you can judge the site’s incentives. The commission does not affect the calculators, which use the same formulas regardless of which broker you use. No broker can pay to change a calculation or a risk warning. The site’s editorial content is written without broker approval, and the presence of an affiliate link is not a recommendation to trade.

Brokers and their own cookies

When you follow a link to a broker, that broker sets its own cookies under its own privacy policy. We do not control those cookies and cannot answer for how the broker handles your data once you are on its site.

Read the broker's policy before you open an account, particularly on how it treats identity documents and payment details. The relationship you form there is with the broker, and the regulator fact worth repeating is that FxPro is licensed by the FCA (UK), CySEC and FSCA — not by the CMA of Kenya.

Cookies and What Each Kind Is For

Nakuru Spread uses two kinds of cookies: a necessary cookie that remembers your cookie consent choice, and analytics cookies that count visits and see which pages are used. The consent cookie is set by the site itself and lasts until you clear it or change your choice. Analytics cookies are set by a third-party service and are only placed if you accept them; they do not identify you personally.

The necessary cookie exists so the site does not ask you about cookies on every page. It stores a simple yes or no, plus the date you made that choice. Without it, the banner would reappear each time you load a page. This cookie contains no personal data and is not shared with anyone.

Analytics cookies help the site understand which calculators and guides are useful. They record pages visited, time on page, and general location at country level, but they do not record your name, your calculator inputs, or your M-Pesa details. You can refuse these cookies without losing access to any calculator or content. If you refuse, the site still works fully, and no analytics cookie is placed.

What Nakuru Spread Stores and What It Does Not

Nakuru Spread stores only what is needed to run the calculators and keep the site working: the numbers you type into a calculator while the page is open, and a small local-storage entry that records your cookie choice. It does not store your name, email, phone number, M-Pesa details, or any trading account information. Nothing you type is tied to an identity, and no profile is built from your use of the tools.

The site does not store your calculator inputs after you close the tab. The numbers you enter for a gold position, such as lot size or reference price, stay in the browser’s memory for that session only. If you refresh or close the page, those values are gone. There is no server-side copy of your calculations, and no database that logs what you typed.

What the site does not store also includes any funding information. It never asks for M-Pesa numbers, bank details, or broker login credentials, and it does not keep a record of which broker links you click. Any data that a broker or third party collects after you leave this site is governed by that party’s own policy, not this one. The site itself keeps no record of your trading activity or account balances.

FAQ

Common questions

What information does Nakuru Spread collect when I use the calculators?

The calculators run on the inputs you type, such as lot size, entry price and leverage, and those inputs are used to produce the result you see. The desk does not need your name, your broker login or your M-Pesa details to run a position size, pip value, margin or profit calculation, and you should not send those details through any contact route on this site.

Does the site store my M-Pesa number or payment details?

No. The desk does not process payments, does not open accounts and has no reason to hold an M-Pesa number. If you fund a trading account, that happens inside the broker's own platform and is governed by the broker's privacy terms, not ours. Never send an M-Pesa confirmation code or PIN to an address claiming to be this desk.

Do you use cookies or analytics, and can I avoid them?

Where analytics are used they are for aggregate page and tool usage, not to identify you as a trader, and standard browser settings let you block or clear cookies. Blocking them may affect how some pages behave but will not stop the calculators from working, since those run from the values you enter. Any third-party affiliate link is governed by that third party's own cookie policy once you follow it.

What happens to my data if I click through to a broker from this site?

Once you follow an affiliate link, you are on the broker's site and the broker's privacy policy applies, including any account, identity and payment data it collects. The desk does not receive your account details, your trading history or your M-Pesa records from that relationship. Read the broker's policy before you register, because it governs what happens next, not this site's.

How long do you keep messages sent to the desk?

Messages are kept only as long as needed to answer the query and, for corrections, to keep a record of what changed. The desk does not build profiles of readers and does not sell contact details. Keep messages free of account numbers, M-Pesa codes and identity documents, since those are not needed to answer a question about a page or a calculation.
